DG and AI

We have recently purchased a '58 Tri Pacer and my friend is using it to learn to fly in. The vintage DG is a bit of a challenge and needs setting more than it should. Is there an easy adapter to replace the older style DG to a newer style???

Also the AI is larger than the standard size instrument, anybody done a retro fit with a standard 3 and 1/8th AI???
