Sadly, this primo Comanche 400 landed short of the runway at Norwood, Mass. No injuries.
Six years ago I repaired this plane after a gear collapse on a taxiway in Fullerton, Ca. The owner prided himself on his maintenance but, in truth, everything (at that time) that he did was marginal. I made it perfect and the owner sold it last year.
It was a dual turbo with an Avidyne 540, Century 2000, perfect interior, paint excellent, and an MT Propeller. I installed new fuel bladders, fixed electrical items, replaced flap tracks, and general repair, and it was a great result. I'm sad that my expert work and knowledge now is wasted with this crash.
What's especially interesting is the MT Propeller in the photos. It just shredded apart. Those wood blades with the composite overlay have no integrity .......
