I've had a couple of display segments go out on my nav/coms, so recently got a "good" vhf-251 for display segment parts. Since the radio was working when removed, I was wondering about just swapping the whole thing. The sticker on the back shows that it has different "mods" than mine.

I need to get educated. How do I find out what the different VHF-251 "mods" mean, and how significant they are. As in, is a swap really feasible, or should I just use the display parts.
