As all of us that have the old style bow tie yokes know, we have a recurring AD that requires inspection at every annual. I have been lucky and never had a problem with cracks or the inspection until now. After 32 years of inspections, my newest IA has insisted that the Piper emblem be removed to inspect the interior of the yoke hub. Unfortunately, the emblem has been fastened with epoxy and is not coming off. In all previous years the IA's have been satisfied with examination of the rear and bottom surfaces. Anyone have any experience or method that gets the original emblem out of the yoke hub without prying or otherwise putting torque on the wheel? Although the Avion ram style control wheels are attractive, the cost certainly isn't.

Any suggestions out there?
