I was wondering if anyone had any insight into the differences between the Cherokee 140 pre 1971-1972 nose bowls vs. the post 1971-1972 thru end of production?

Advantages vs disadvantages? Worthy of converting one to the other or vice versa?

* It appears earlier model Cherokee book numbers list approximately 3 kts or so faster cruise speed.

* Late model provides easy removal for maintenance, without removing the propeller. An STC exists to split early model nose bowls.

* The later model moved the forward engine baffle up into the #1 and #2 cylinder area by about 4 inches? Moving the oil cooler in front of the #2 cylinder instead of underneath it. There may be other differences as well.
