This morning the electric fuel pump would not come on. I checked the fuse, jiggled the switch all around, still no luck.
I called a mechanic who said to tap on it with a screwdriver handle while the switch is on. I tapped on it quite a bit, but nothing happened. I gave up and began to walk over to get the electric screwdriver to button up the cowling, and it started running. I let it run about 5 minutes, then got into the plane to fiddle with the switch. I could usually get it to turn on, but not always. Also, if I turn the switch on, and it does not come on, sometimes by rocking the switch down a little it will come on. But not always!
I'm thinking maybe a short somewhere behind the panel? Bad solenoid? What say ye internet?
