Just to stir the pot..
For CANADIAN AIRCRAFT...
Have heard this, got some details today... (Quote from a knowledgeable commercial operator. )

Piper AD: So essentially they were too scared to say, hey high time aircraft defined as X hours need it period. Instead they invent this formula based on 100 HR commercial inspections. Now, here's the kicker. The AD states that only those "inspections conducted to comply with the 100-hour requirement of 14 CFR 91.409(b)" count to quote from the AD. Since in Canada even in commercial service we do NOT INSPECT TO FAR SPEC. Its to Canadian Regulations and therefore, from 2 different AMEs/AMOs now I have been told that essentially only US 100 HR inspections count. The way the AD is written means that Canadian Aircraft even if in commercial service the 100 hr. inspections do not count.
I would not be surprised if TC eventually gets around to writing a supplemental AD for Canada...
- Also, some sellers posting "Spar AD done" does not necessarily mean the Spar was inspected, only that the AD was done, ie, they wrote in the JL that hours two low, not needed.
