Best first plane for new pilot?

Hi all,

I am looking at my first airplane purchase to continue for instrument and commercial ratings and for flying 200-3000nm cross country trips. Budget is under 200k and want to afford the maintenance and insurance. I did most of my training in Piper Archer but want retract for advanced ratings and better performance. Pax is me plus 1-2 friends and 100lbs luggage.
