Recently noticed small crack on top of left wing between two rivets just over the rib at station 69.24 left. This is the rib visible from the wheel well. Upon inspection noticed that the rib appears to be slightly separated from main spar at the top leading edge of rib. Also appears as if rib has dropped 1/16 - 1/8 inch. After reading other threads and speaking to a mechanic, it sounds like a major job to pull gear, skins, repair rib etc. A suggested alternative is to find another left wing.

I'm assuming this is not a first for a PA 28R. Anyone have experience with this repair and can recommend best approach?
