Hi folks. I have been shopping for a somewhat budget minded flying club to replace the Citabria 7ECA that we flew for 40 years. We weren't flying it much anymore (fun plane but not much of a traveler), and it was getting to where it was close to needing major work. Then we had a prop strike and decided to go with a PA28 to replace it. We finally found one we like; so far done with inspections and made a down payment. We expect to have it in about a week. I start training in another local PA28 tomorrow.
I've been following and enjoying this forum for several months. Good stuff.
The airplane we are purchasing looks great, did well on pre-purchase inspection, and seems to have been nicely maintained. It has about 2700 hours TTAF and 150 hours SMOH. I am aware of service bulletins and pending ADs. Outside of that stuff, we are looking to establish new dues and flight costs. About how much are you guys running in "routine" annual maintenance costs for a similar vintage/model?
