I'm finally thinking on equipping for ADS-B Out, and my final candidates are the Stratus ESG and the Garmin 335. They seem equivalent, only the Stratus is $800 cheaper. The shop I spoke to said they have installed many ESG's but leaned toward Garmin for their 'great customer service' (or something like that.) Does Appareo have enough street cred? Has anyone installed the ESG and had a problem getting the FAA rebate? The last thing I want is a Navworx-ish debacle.

I already have in through the GDL 39 and Aera 560, so I'm not really interested in a combined In/Out solution. I don't have a panel mounted GPS and don't plan to fly IFR, so I won't be considering any other WAAS solution. I have a GTX 327 now. I know some remote options are cheaper, but the labor would be more, making it a wash, as far as I know.

All opinions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.
