Dup post from another thread, more appropriate here:

Just took it to my fav avionics shop in NC for a general upgrade. Not a complete panel - it has a functional Stormscope that I'm keeping, ditto two dated but quite usable (mismatched) navcoms, HSI, Altimatic IV - recently rebuilt - general steam gauges. New stuff: getting the ADSB in/out out of the way, trading post lights for ring lights (LED), new Garmin intercom/marker panel. The floating panels themselves were cut-up from previous installations, so they are using a CAD program to cut new ones. (Interestingly, they do an initial fit with plexiglas panels so they can see through them as to any problems, then transfer any modifications to the new aluminum ones. Pretty cool.) I took a look at the wiring myself, and it was pretty rough. Having the floating panels out lets them get at everything easily: lots of old wiring was just cut - not even with heatshrink on it. Got my post lights working by tightening the ground terminal - the nut was nearly off the stud. Much else still doesn't work, so they are doing a complete run-through to get it all right. Their sec'y/ramrod called me yesterday; she's taking pictures as they go, so I'll post them here.

My bud and I are building Franken-Tug out of my old zero-turn mower. I'll post some pix of it too if there is interest.
