N349ER's landing gear has been buried in 47 years of dust, grime, grease, dirt, muck, and neglect.

But my Cherokee 180C now has the new style torque links, torque link kits, strut seal kits and a lot of labor. It took an experienced mechanic and me (gofer, muck cleaner, and rattle canner) 2 full days to do this. There must be 100 parts to this gear.

If the weather clears it will get it's test flight this afternoon.

If I were to do it over, it would also have new brake lines in the gear area.......next year!

Solvents used......Purple Power, paint thinner, acetone, alcohol, water, air......and needed lots of it. Now I wonder how to dispose of the contaminated solvents.

Cessna's spring steel landing gear sure is a better deal!!!!!!!
