I ran across these plans for a 12v high-amp power supply using refurbished server power supplies (about $18). These are frequently used by owners of BMWs and Porsches that need to flash their ECUs or calibrate transmissions and such. They provide up to 65 amps of clean steady power. These may appeal to aircraft owners who wish to practice using their glass screen in their hangar. Some minor soldering is needed and you can attach a cheap voltmeter to monitor voltage.
