Sorry this is so long. 1966 Cherokee 180.
On a recent flight home from Mammoth Mt. the stall warning light was coming on sporadically. It wasn't always full intensity so I chocked it up to the turbulence as the light went out when the turbulence stopped. The problem is still occurring. I pulled the flow switch to check it and it's fine. I reinstalled it and taped the flow vane so it couldn't move at all, and went for a flight. On x-wind with a slight amount of bumpies it tried coming on but not always full intensity. I'm thinking the return wire from the switch has an intermittent connection/short to ground which completes the circuit to the light.
My plan is to locate and disconnect the return wire from the switch at the terminal block under the rear seat and go for a flight. Still comes on? The problem is between the terminal strip and the light. Doesn't come on, it's the wing wire...YUCK.!!
Any thoughts?
