So I am about to take on my first wiring project in my 63 Cherokee 160. I have a 4 place intercom, but only the pilot and co-pilot jacks are wired. I would like to add right and left passenger jacks for the rear. I have looked at the wiring diagram for my Intercom (PS Engineering PMA 4000) and understand which wires on the connector to use for what function. I have also determined that mine is wired for mono not stereo. I assume that means that I can use mono jacks and only have to wire the high and low on the connector. I have also read how to use a shrink wrap connector and watched video on how to terminate the ground on the wire shield properly. I have also watched how a properly wired connector is laid out. I obviously want to do it properly and as cleanly as if an avionics shop had done the work. My question is what gauge wire do I need to use for the audio connections? When reading the installation instructions for the unit it only addresses 20 AWG Twisted Pair wire for power wires. Nothing for the audio connections. What gauge shielded wire would you use and does anyone have any tips or tricks to make this go smoothly. Thanks
