Got another email from FAASafety.gov today, entitled "When to activate the ELT after the engine goes silent". An interesting short article that got me thinking about my ELT. I have the old school 121.5 analog type. It's mounted behind the rear bulkhead, so not easily accessed in flight without a 2nd person and a struggle! (PA28-140, by the way) So, I started to think, how could I put in a remote activation switch? Is this even feasible? Anyone ever done it? I'm interested to hear any input about this. Seems like remote activation capability is an essential feature if the ELT is not located in the cabin.
