I am doing some refresh work on my Cherokee’s interior. I repaired some small holes and weak spots on the hat shelf, and now I’m getting ready to paint it.

I am planning to use SEM paint, but I’m stuck with regard to which type of their adhesion promotion products to use. They have three products, 1 for ABS & PVC, and 2 others for olefin & other thermoplastics.

So what need to know is: what type of plastic is the hat shelf made of?

I suspect ABS because - naturally - I have the promoter for olefin... :)

Thanks in advance for any help!
