Well, my Cherokee 140 paint is getting a little worse for the wear. It's currently got 2 coats as evidenced by some of the peeling around the nose and fuel caps. As I'm pondering the next steps with this bird, which is already a little fat at 1387lbs empty leaving me 763lbs useful, I can't help but wonder how much that second coat of paint is costing me? If I bit the bullet and stripped both coats and repainted would I reasonably expect a meaningful increase in useful load or is that just a pipe dream?
