I have a 63 Cherokee 160 B. I am fighting a forward weight and balance issue all of the time. I am a big guy. 285 lbs. When my fiance and I fly I have to put 135 to 150 lbs in the baggage compartment to meet weight and balance. With tabs fuel I am at almost max gross weight. I have heard people talk of putting weight in the tail section to adjust for this. Where is the weight placed in the tail area. I am sure I can figure out the numbers from there. Just not sure what kind of weight ( I assume shot bags) where is it placed and how is it secured. Also wanted to know how much weight can be put back there without stressing the airframe? If anyone has done this and has any photos, I would be more than happy to see them
Thanks.
