The neighbors @ a local airport have a new hobby.
Using binoculars they obtain an "N number".
They then go to the FAA Registration Site & determine if the registration is current.
If not; a complaint is filed with FAA.
If you operate without a CURRENT regiustration you could be brought up on charges.
Obviously; without a current Registration you cannot fly the aircaft legally.
If you DO the legal hassle may not allow any time anyway.
It has been several years since expiration dates were mandatory.
The $5 fee is cheap considering the alternative.
