I've got a wonderful 6 pack of fully functional and good shape steam gauges. Ive got a century 41 3 axis AP that is coupled to an NDS 360 HSI (Edo air) and my 530waas.
I have not yet upgraded my transponder bit that's obviously something that will be done in the next few years.
As I've started my IFR training I can't help but wish I had some glass in front of me. Putting that 6 pack into an aspen pro just seems like a dream as far as utility and reliability. The aspen would include gpss steering among other nice features. Obviously it comes at a price.
My question is how much my current avionics are worth to sell or trade in? The HSI is working fine at the moment. Is there a process to get them certified even though they don't need work? My vacuum AI would probably just move over into the backup position.
My CFI just bought a new plane with some older avionics and he was talking about upgrading them and mentioned how much he liked the HSI I had in my plane. Got me thinking you know. Oh and he'd like my 530w too. Lol.
Idk. I'm probably racking up a huge bill with this wish list but the idea of an aspen pro and idk maybe the avidyne replacement of the 530? But heck I will need a new transponder too. Have I hit 20k yet??? Lol.
