Has anybody had any experience having a used autopilot installed? I want to get an S-Tec 30 autopilot with the GPSS, and I was hoping for cost reasons to find a used unit. But when I talked to the avionics manager in Fort Wayne, he told me that the cost of the paperwork to get it certified for my plane would make it almost the same price as a new model. Just curious if anybody has gone through this, and what your thoughts are?
