What exactly constitutes "rough air"? I've been flying where it briefly felt like we were on a roller coaster, with the bottom falling out momentarily, but only losing 10-50 feet of altitude, and getting kicked in the tail with the tail lifting up and the nose pitching down 5-10 degrees with some yaw added into the mix, updrafts that take you up 1200-1500fpm, and downdrafts that my 140 can't outclimb, but I thought that was basically normal for afternoon flying at low altitudes in the desert, in the summer heat and we just fly normal cruise speed.......
