Hey guys, I have a trutrak vision autopilot installed in my Piper Arrow II. I honestly have never been really happy with the autopilot and I’ve had it for a couple of years now. So much so that I am thinking about switching it out for a GFC500. My problem with the autopilot is it will randomly just make a 90 degree turn after following a course for a while. It has not been very good in turbulance either holding a track worth a hoot. If I take off with just myself and full fuel and burn off the right tank the autopilot after 30 minutes or so will veer to the left of course and not correct itself back to the right. I get it that it has an imbalance but if the servos can’t handle a certain amount of imbalance what good are they? Am I the only one having problem with the Trutrak autopilot?
