I have a friend that wants to put a 430W in his Grumman. I currently have a 430W in my Saratoga and was thinking on upgrading to a 650. I know places like Sarasota offer a swap for about $5,500. My question is how much labor or what cost is involved in labor hours and extra parts to swap the 430W for the 650 in my plane. I’ve herd the Avidyne IDF 440 is supposed to be a “simple” process with no panel modifications etc. Would the Garmin 650 be anywhere as simple?

I’m thinking the 430W is probably worth more now than it will be in another year so why not get the most out of it now?

Secondarily what will I have to sell to my friend and what’s its approximate value. I assume I would keep the WASS antennas and trays etc if possible to reuse. I see various units for sale here and eBay and the like but don’t know what all “extras” my friend would have to buy to get it installed in his plane.

Thanks for your help and appreciate reading feedback on many other posts.
