My Warrior is hangered but the door has more than a few nice gaps around the egdes. I am currently dealing with a few pigeons that frequent the rafters above, mostly over my neighbor. I also have an old birdhouse in the back floor of the hanger I keep a little 'mouse bait' in. While checking it last fall I noticed many small twigs inside, evidence that a wren had been at work.
This got me to thinking, even though the plane is hangered I may want to plug the cowl openings, at least for the busy spring nesting season. Is there a desirable material that's handy to plug the front engine openings? I guess I could about just use an old sweatshirt, & leave an arm hanging out as a reminder. With a quick peek at Aircraft Spruce I didn't see a whole lot. I doubt the official plugs are that much, ideas on where?
I was just wanting to plug while those birds have the hanger all to themselves. I know wrens are busy builders & have seen their evidence in other tight places. Just a thought.
