I have the STEC Autopilot System 30 ALT in my Archer. When in moderate turbulence it is frequently asking for up/down trim adjustments. Is this normal for this basic altitude hold system? Are there system gain adjustments that can improve rough air performance? I shut it off when it gets bumpy.
In mostly smooth air, it holds altitude well with only occasional trim adjustments.
