I have a 73 28-180 that has a resistor soldered inline on the cable that comes off the field of the alternator. Nobody seems to know what this is or what it is for. I have converted to the plane power alternator and I believe that this resistor may not be necessary with the more modern alternator. Does anyone know what this could be?
