Cruising at 3,000 ft MSL this afternoon, I spotted these unusual L-shaped clouds. The two clouds start as streamers, coming down from the cloud base like a ramp, then turn 90° in a sharp corner.
The turn is probably from when they hit the top of the winter inversion. The streamers themselves are harder to explain I'm used to see ones like this when a cold wind is blowing over open water, but there's no big body of water nearby, and I've never seen a streamer this well defined and descending at a 3040° angle from the cloud base.
Any thoughts?
Cheers, David
