Soft wing step

Good day all. I went to go flying yesterday and noticed a strange issue. The wing step just behind the spar was soft and when you step on it or push on it the wing squeaks. Has anyone seen or experienced this problem. Just as a note we did not notice this problem the day before and there was no problems in flight or on landing that would lead to this.
