So, late last year, I transitioned from a Cherokee 160 to a 235. Vive le diference.

I tend to carry more speed on final with the 235, and more power to compensate for the heavy nose. I’ve never been much of a “land in a wheelie and exhaust elevator authority on the rollout” guy (even in my Cessna days), and the Piper landing sink has not helped my evolution for this.

I’ve had a number of times in the 235 when I land...or arrive...and find the plane skipping on the runway during the rollout (skip-out?). I’m not usually looking at air speeds in this phase, but my suspicion is that I landed flat, with excess speed (as I clearly still have the ability to fly).

My cure thus far has been to dump the flaps (usually 40), but I’d like to get away from this. The end-of-flare sink keeps me away from stall speed (which I know is the “ideal”), and I know this would likely fix the issue on its own.

Beyond that, does anybody have any thoughts, suggestions, or similar experience...short of arming spoilers, that is.
