A few weeks ago, the rod end bearing of our shimmy dampener managed to work itself loose on our plane. We ended up replacing the following parts according to the Piper parts manual:

05-07346 BEARING,ROD END 452-334
AN315-4R NUT, FULL HEX AN315-4R
AN936-A416 LOCK WASHER TYPE A MS35333-40

However, I'm wondering if there are any further steps we can do to ensure this doesn't happen again, besides the star lock washer? There aren't any provisions for safety wire with these parts since there are no holes in the nut or rod end. Locktite might be a little too permanent, given that it's helpful to be able to disconnect it at annual to check for proper movement. Perhaps replacing the plain jamnut with a AN363-428? Maybe just use torque seal paint and remember to check for its disruption during preflight? Nord-lock washers sound like another interesting option...
