I have a 1973 PA-28-180 Piper Challenger. The pilot seat base recently broke. AV-Fab says it cannot be repaired due to multiple cracks in addition to the break point. They also have no rebuilt replacements.

My AP says he has found one seat, not sure where he has found it yet, that is being sold “as removed” for $1554. My only concern with that is that there is no reason to believe it will not break soon as well.

Anyone hear know of any source for a pilot seat base. Does piper even still make them?

Any ideas would be welcome.
