I have a PA28R-200, Arrow II with 48 gallons usable fuel. I’m headed from Louisville, KY to Billings, MT on 8/5. On the return trip, with a little tailwind, I could possibly make the trip in just over eight hours. I’ve never gone past 3.5 hours without stopping for fuel but realize that I’ve probably got a good hour of fuel left, so, I probably could do the return with one fuel stop. I’m interested in some personal experiences on range in this airplane. I certainly know the legal parts of fuel reserves so I don’t need that. I’ve even read stories about running a tank dry to see how much time you have. This should be an interesting conversation...
