Rock Steady Tiedown Mount for GoPro

Has anyone successfully mounted one of these on the tail tie down of a PA28? I had too much play and I could not lock it down. Works fine on the under wing tie down, but the tail tie down on a PA28 is not a ring like the wing tiedowns. I am thinking maybe a couple large fender washers might help. I really want the video from under the fuselage looking forward.
