I've read Art Mattson's document on checking the rigging on a Cherokee 140. I also built the tool to the specifications in the document. When I place the piece of aluminum angle on the outboard end of the flap with the bolt against the rear spar, the short end of the tool sticks out about 3/8 - 1/2" from the aft edge of the flap. The flat side of the angle iron also does not sit flush with the bottom of the wing and the flap. Am I seeing it correctly, that it needs quite an adjustment? See pics.
