Yesterday it was 35F in the hangar while doing annual and setting proper cable tensions.

Manual says for example 40 pounds, and a graph says to substract 6-7 pounds at that temperature.

1) It it that we must set at 40 - 7 = 33 pounds,

Or
2) is it that we must read on the tool 7 less, so set the tension at 40 + 7 = 47 pounds ?

The way it's written in the maintenance manual it looks like 1), but that I would have though that steel by cold weather is shrinking and therefore the cold temp tension should be higher.

Any thoughts ?

Thanks, Francois
