Now that my wallet is on the line, I'm thinking about this more and more. My 140, at 1,000 RPM, really wants to move. Maybe I'm a slow taxier (I do tend to drive slow). But, I find that especially when taxiing to the departure end of the runway with a tailwind, I end up having to basically ride the brakes the whole way to keep at a comfortable taxi speed.
I know brakes are relatively cheap (as far as airplanes go) and they can always be replaced at annual. But, what are others' experience with this? I'd like to think it's bad technique, but I know of no other way. Undoubtedly, most of my brake wear is not on landing rollout, its on just standard taxiing trying to keep my speed under control.
