So, I have a freshly minted ASEL certificate, a total of 101.7 hours, 5.1 hours Hi Performance with an endorsement, and no retract/complex time as of yet.

I'm eyeballing a Glasair II RG, swwwwweeeeeeet airplane.

Just got a quote back for insurance on it from AOPA: $6500 per year.....and requiring 25 hours dual with an instructor with 750 hours, 250 hours dual given, and 25 hours in type.

So much for that plan.......that double what my payment on the plane would be.

What can I do, and how can I do it, so that transitioning to a fast complex airplane isn't so painful on the insurance front????
