My 30th anniversary present from my partner was a GoPro Hero 5 Black with a special mount for the tie-down rings, so that I don't have to take smudgy video through the plexiglass.

Any hints for getting good flying videos? Are you able to connect and see the video stream on your phone/tablet from inside the cockpit? I was thinking that with the camera mounted under the wing, pointing it forward and somewhere between 15–30° downwards would give the best result, but I'd like to know what others have learned.

I'm excited to try this out. The SD card can hold up to 8.5 hours of 1080p HD video, so I can easily film entire flights.
