Repeated Dakota exhaust shroud failures?

During last month’s annual on our ‘81 Dakota, our A&P found that the top and bottom exhaust shroud components, and the carb heat shroud, had failed. The carb heat shroud had actually came loose and damaged the lower cowl. We also found a nearby crack in the forward exhaust pipe right by the forward muffler.

This is the third failure of the heat shroud components in the past 15 months. Prior component repairs were done by a shop in Minnesota and components reinstalled by our A&P in Indiana.

Has anyone seen a similar recurrent problem with these components in Dakotas?
