I recently ordered all new carpeting kit for my PA28-140. It arrives in about 4 weeks. My son and I have succeeded in scraping (with plastic scrapers) all the padding remnants. But thin layers of epoxy-like glue remain attached and no amount of scraping is going to remove this. My mechanic has warned me of not being "too aggressive" as the aluminum is treated with an anti-rust material. I need a safe liquid to "melt off" some of this glue-like material without damaging the underlying aluminum. Can anyone suggest what options I have? Thank you!
