My com1 is 530W and com2 is kx155. On past few flights controllers have reported poor or scratchy reception on com1 while sounded clear on com2. I checked connectors and grounding etc and TestFlight with good radio checks from ATC but it happened again in following flight. I traced wiring for connector or corrosion issues but all checked fine. Also bypassed the handheld external antenna jack which was connected inline with com1.

Last Saturday I flew to niagra falls and had similar issues on my way to niagra on morning flight. Coming back late afternoon we had no such issues. So my hypothesis is leading me to possibility of Morning dew or condensation getting to antenna base connector since only thing I notice is that both radio antennas are missing bead of sealant around it.

I don't know what else to check now besides taking it to a radio shop to test antenna itself. Any thoughts?
