Hi. I just purchased a GARMIN GPS 155 With Rack And Data Card. Yes, I know its ancient technology and no longer supported by Garmin. But I just wanted very basic IFR GPS capability without having to spend more on the GPS and new panel than my plane is worth.

I'd greatly appreciate any insights on the installation. What else do I need to buy? What is the simplest GPS antenna for a Piper Cherokee? Is an annunciator panel required? If so, what type do I need to purchase? Also, would I need to buy a new CDI? I currently have a single VOR/ILS unit (picture attached). Could I replace the VOR with a toggle switch and still use one CDI? I want to keep the ILS. Lastly, how do I get an updated approach data card?

Again, thanks for any help!
