Not sure if most owners realize that pickling is not a hands-off procedure.  Besides the desiccant plugs, the cylinders need to be fogged with anti-corrosion material regularly, and... ???  I am not a mechanic, just an owner with a healthy dose of curiosity! 


Bottom line, you need to trust someone with your Baby, so I still wonder which is better...trust someone to fly your airplane?  Ground run it?  Pickle it, with the required regular attention?  Can you even trust someone to do ANYTHING properly anymore?  That answer, is of course, different for everybody.
