I’ve owned my ‘73 Cherokee 140 150hp for a year and a half. 4500 hrs total time, 275 smoh. I’m based at 2700 ft and with the warming temperatures, I’m reminded that I need a bit better climb performance. My A/P has suggested the 160 stc using the existing cylinders(compressions in the low to mid 70’s). I would like to do both the Powerflow and 160 stc, but economically, it’s one now, and the other a year or so down the road. Which would you do first and which is the best bang for the buck, with emphasis on climb performance?
