Piper airbox repair

My airbox has been wearing down and needs either repair or replacement. My AP tells me this can happen with these boxes and the metal on metal can wear it down. He doesnt have the tools or equipment needed for repair. Wondering if any of our AP's on the forum could repair, or if i should just buy a new one.
