Does anyone have a photo of the component parts of Piper Kit 767-397 LH, or 767-398 RH? It is unknown whether this repair kit is only for one side of the rib, or covers both sides of the rib in one wing. This repair kit is for the wing rib at station 49.25 in the main gear bay.
We have a 1974 Arrow II with a crack in the wing rib in the left hand wing. The 3/4 inch crack is in the inboard rib vertical bend radius starting from the bottom up. This is on the side opposite of the sidebrace stud mounting bracket. We'd like to know if it is worth the effort to repair the existing rib or whether it is best to just replace the entire rib. The repair kit is $440 while the rib is closer to $1300. This is also a repetitive 100H inspection, with a more detailed 500H inspection requiring removal of the sidebrace stud bracket and dye penetrant inspection for cracking. Once modified the 100H inspection is deleted however the 500H repetitive inspection remains.
