Hi,
I have a 1979 PA28-181 with the PET-1 manual electric trim. The trim stopped working in the nose down switch position but works fine for nose up. I have the service manual and checked voltages at the external caps. I get 12 volts on one of the caps for nose up and 0 volts on the other cap for nose down. Strangely if I disconnect the wire to the nose down cap I get 12 volts when the switch is in the nose down position. I checked continuity from the switch both position, seems ok. Schematics aren't great, see below. My guess is a bad winding or brush in the center tapped motor, any other ideas? Anyone know of a part number for the motor or brushes?
